Jeff Bezos interested in buying the Celtics?
Bill Simmons: In the last few days there’s been some I think legitimate buzz about Jeff Bezos buying the Celtics, and I think it’s real. I think he’s gonna be one of the suitors. Which got me thinking, Jeff Bezos when he’s looking at the Celtics, what is he seeing? What does he want? And I think the only way it makes sense is that it’s one of the crown jewel franchises. That’s why you get it. To him, it would be no different than if you bought this famous gigantic $300 million yacht but I think it’s real that he’s potentially in the mix for this.

Bill Simmons: The league wants six billion for the Celtics, six billion, they don’t own their arena, it’s a crazy price but they’re probably going to get it. They want the six billion because they want expansion teams in Seattle and Vegas and then Mexico City’s kind of looming as a third team but they want to get six billion a piece for the two franchises for expansion which would mean a check of $400 million to every NBA owner, all 30. They’re trying to establish a price with the Celtics team and the Celtics themselves the Grousbeck family.

Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson: San Antonio Spurs ran an offseason training camp this week in Texas and one of their biggest participants in it was Chris Paul. CP3 spent the last week in San Antonio familiarizing himself with the Spurs play book, coaching staff and players who also worked out with the seasoned vet. CP3 is not looking JUST to be a vet that’s mentoring young people, but he’s also looking to compete. Folks that I’ve spoken with are banking on CP3’s presence in San Antonio being similar to his role with the Oklahoma City Thunder a few years ago with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and many others. San Antonio is expecting a monster season from Victor Wembanyama after a strong rookie campaign and a stellar showing in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Exciting times are ahead in San Antonio with the Spurs’ official training camp starts next month.

Dennis Schroeder calls Kevin Durant weak
A week after the exchange, Dennis Schroeder held one of his regular Twitch streams where he usually plays games and chats with his audience. “You’re that type of a star, and you have to say something to a person like me who not even meant it to be negative. It was just what I see from both sides, you know what I’m saying? I didn’t appreciate it,” the Brooklyn Nets guard continued. “I don’t care, but at the end of the day, that tweet, or whatever he posted, was because of me. For me, it was never no negative stuff. I respect all of those guys, all GOATs, but to say that tells me how weak he is as a person.” “It is what it is. Not everybody is strong, not everybody is in a good place,” Schroder later said.

The Heat also dealt with injuries to key players like Terry Rozier and Herro in the 2023-24 season. Missing both of those key guards (Rozier also did not play in the playoffs) at times certainly limited Miami’s ceiling as a contender in the Eastern Conference Windhorst then shared why he is buying the Heat ahead of the 2024-25 season. “I’m basically saying buy (the Heat) because Jimmy Butler is going to – I think – be highly motivated,” Windhorst said. “At times it seems like Jimmy looks for reasons not to play. And maybe that will be the prevailing situation, but I believe that Jimmy is going to be in killer mode to try to prove himself to the Heat and whoever else in the league.”
