We have an orchid that I bought 11 years ago.At the time I bought it, it had flowers on it. But since that very first bloom, it hasn't ever flowered since. It kept producing fresh leaves and looked healthy so I didn't give up on it. Watering and feeding regularly.A few weeks ago, I noticed that buds had started appearing on one of the stems, I couldn't believe it!And lo and behold, last week it burst into flower. It made me so happy😀It's another reminder that consistency and patience are key when marketing and growing your small business. And if being consistent (not constant - there is a difference!) is something you struggle with, Gloria Holmes & myself are partnering up to bring you 'Let's Do This!' - a 30-day accountability community on WhatsApp with prompts, motivation, support, and mindset tips.We start on 2nd September, link in the comments below if you are ready to boost your LinkedIn presence 👇

11 years?!?! Holy moly and I thought the 2 years it took for an orchid I received from my dad was excessively long to flower again.

I am useless at keeping house plants alive but I've had an orchid for nearly 4 years (it was a gift when my daughter was born) and miraculously, it's still alive! It's flowered every year but I haven't seen any new buds yet this year. I'm hoping it will soon - the leaves and roots are all still healthy 🌸🤞🏻

They are such pretty flowers, it's such a shame to wait 11 years for them... hope they flower again sooner 🌺

I love Orchids but am having trouble now keeping them alive, I haven't found the right place in the house. This sounds like an interesting and inspirational challenge. I would be interested to learn more about it. thanks, Emma

A level results day always brings back memories for me.I flunked my A levels:German - ‘U’ ungraded. Translates as me being utter rubbish in the exam in every element.I absolutely hated the subject, and only did it to please my parents - how ironic!French - ‘N’ I still have no idea what this actually means. A lot of people say it means ‘nearly’! Really?! 🤷🏼♀️“You were nearly good enough to get a grade Miss Rowley, but not quite”I managed to achieve my English Language/Literature A level, so it wasn’t a complete waste of 2 years. However, I loved being at college. Made some great friends & the social life was definitely more important to me at the time - hence my dire results 😏Years later I managed to achieve a BSc degree through the Open University - something I’m proud of myself for doing.Did you study A levels? I bet you did better than me 😀🤦🏼♀️

Outsourcing to a Virtual Assistant can make a real difference to you and your business. It can give you more time to spend in your zone of genius, not having to worry about doing tasks you don't want to, don't enjoy, or don't do as well as you'd like. How do you know when you are ready to outsource to a VA?Ideally, before you start feeling overwhelmed with all the admin-type tasks you have to do in your business. You don't want to leave it until you are so overwhelmed that you are unable to focus on finding a VA or onboarding them. You also need to make sure you have a steady income so you can afford it.Also, a handy tip: Having SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in your business are so useful for when you are ready to outsource. These can be done simply on a Word/Google Doc or via a simple Loom video and explain how you do specific tasks in your business.Flow charts & diagrams are also a great way to show processes, workflows, and systems within your business. You could even get a VA to create them for you!Once created, they can easily be updated if anything changes and passed over to anyone who works within your business. If you are ready to outsource those time-consuming tasks or want a free 20-minute no-obligation chat about how I can support you in your business, click the link in the comments below 👇

Mum guilt has been rife this week.We are almost at the end of week 3 of the summer holidays & I haven't taken my son anywhere yet.So I asked him what he would like to do and he said he fancied going to the zoo.And that's exactly what we are doing today - a day out at the zoo! It's also a good thing for me to step away from my desk and down tools for the day - fingers crossed that the weather stays dry 🌞

Are you an early bird or a night owl when it comes to being productive?I used to work into the early hours when completing my OU degree as I found I was more inspired in the evening. It was usual for me to be up until 1am writing my essays. These days I find the mornings are better for me to focus and be more productive.Which are you, a morning lark or a night owl?🦉

Do you have a name that gets mispronounced?People often query how to say my surname & practically every time I'm asked my surname, I spell it out.My family's way is ‘Row’ - ley (as in row your boat)So many people pronounce the ‘ow’ as in ‘cow’, and for some Rowleys, that's how they say it.I often don’t correct them as I feel a bit awkward & the English language is quirky. I’d probably make the same mistake.Do you have a name that is often said incorrectly & if so do you correct people?
